The Difference Between Ski and Snowboard Sock

Posted by Ben Lowe on

“There is a difference between ski and snowboard socks? But they’re practically the same sport”. WRONG!

Here at SockMine, we recognise that skiiers and boarders are different. They move in completely different ways and therefore want unique things from their kit, including their socks.

As they glide down the slopes, the athletes will suffer from friction and rubbing in different areas. This can cause irritation which leads to soreness and blisters. But fear no more because we have taken care of it. Our socks will keep your feet fresh, warm and comfy for as long as you want to spend on the ski lift.

ADD SOME CHARACTER

We have created the Ultimate skiing and Ultimate snowboarding socks especially for you. Whether you prefer a more traditional sock or want to spice it up a little bit with one of our favourite characters, we have the sock for you.

Our character socks include Hello Kitty, Tweety Pie, Superman and Darth Vader for the Star Wars fans out there.

SKI SOCKS VS SNOWBOARD SOCKS

Our Ski Socks have extra padding around the ankle and shin for the repetitive movements you make whilst skiing. The technical features embedded in this sock includes; graduated elastication throughout the sock increases blood flow therefore optimising performance, targeted shin and calf padding provides cushioning where it is needed most. It also has ankle and achilles protection, ergonomic left and right design provides support in pressure areas, reinforced heel and toe for ultimate durability, and fillet lines help prevent the sock bunching in your boots.

On the other hand, the Snowboard socks have extra padding on top of the foot for comfort and protection from binding, as well as reinforced padding in the heel and toe areas for durability and comfort due to repetitive movements. Technical properties of the Snowboarding sock include; graduated elastic throughout the sock increases blood flow to optimise performance, shin, calf and foot padding provides cushioning where it is needed the most. As well as snowboard binding padding, ergonomic left and right design provides support in pressure zones, reinforced heel and toe for ultimate durability and flex lines prevent the sock from bunching in your boots.
