ABOUT SAM
Welcome Sam Lloyd-Perks to the SockMine team.
Sam Lloyd-Perks is a 21-year-old year distance runner, currently competing for Wolverhampton & Bilston AC. He also represents Cardiff Metropolitan University in the winter months, where he studies BSc Sociology of Sport.
Although Sam competes in shorter distance events such as 1500m, he is predominately a road runner and enjoys longer events up to and including Half Marathons. Matthew Vaux-Harvey coaches Sam in his local county of Worcestershire, helping him to have a number of successes in 2015. As well as winning a number of races on the road, his biggest achievement was finishing first junior at the British 10k road championships in London in May 2015.
Sam has been one of our longest-serving ambassadors and has done a lot to promote the brand. As well as SockMine, Sam also represents Asics and in 2016 joined its athlete development programme. Running has always been a big part of Sam’s life and is something he is extremely passionate about. When meeting with Sam, he told us “I love the feeling of being out on a long run in beautiful scenery, but also that great buzz of finishing a really hard session”.
